Making Use of the Date Finder

General Usage

Dates are supposed to be a fun way to go out with someone and get to know them better. While coffee shops are great for first dates, it may feel intimidating. Connect To Me can help you find places where, whether it is your first date or not, you are at a place where you feel more comfortable and you can be yourself.

For the optimal results, this guide is supposed to represent how to make the most of the date finder.

To start with, go to the "Profile" tab in Connect To Me, and click on "Location Interests" (see screenshot below).

Inside you should see a list of interests you can check off. Go ahead an select which of the categories listed you are interested in, and which ones your partner (or potential partner) are interested in.

An example is shown below.

To make the most of the date finder, try to select as many interests as you can, it makes the search easier as the date finder will be able to suggest more places. There are many options for interests to select.

Once you have made your selections, go ahead and click "Back" (to left corner) and click on the "Discover" (right under the magnifying glass) button in the tabs. This will take you to the date finder area.

NOTE: You may get a message asking for your location. Go ahead and click "Allow Once" or "Allow While Using App." In order to suggest date spots, Connect To Me needs to know where you are. Note that we DO NOT store or store your location data anywhere. Read our privacy policy for more info.

Finally, click on "Search this area" and wait for Connect To Me to find some date spots! Note: you may need to zoom out a bit to see the full region and all date spots found.

From here, you should have a whole bunch of places suggested. You can move around the map and see other places suggested, zoom in, zoom out, and play around with the map.

You may want to see all the locations found. Go ahead and click on the "" icon to see all date locations it found.

Feel free to click on any location. This will expose the address, along with any other details available such as the company website or phone number.

Connect To Me does not offer a online reservation system (at least not yet!). So if you found a restaurant you like (or some other nice place that requires getting tickets), check out the date location's website!

Look through at least a few options given, and once you found a date spot that you like, go ahead and click "Add to Favorites" to save the place. You can always remove it from the Favorites anytime you want.

You can also optionally click "Open in Maps" which will open your favorite "Map App" (e.g. Google Maps or Apple Maps) that can give you directions on how to get to your date spot!

Other Features

By default, Connect To Me looks for date spots around where you are. For instance, in the example shown earlier (with the images), our "starting" location was in Seattle. You can change the starting location by typing into the "Enter Starting Location..." search field in the map. This is a neat feature in case you want to see other date spots in other specific locations.

Advice on Picking a Date Spot

As we have said earlier, dates are supposed to be fun. Many people will be shy or nervous on their first date. Given the date locations Connect To Me found for you, look through the places and pick the ones where you will feel like you will have the most fun (this can be anything like a museum, amusement park, or some fun tourist attraction), which can help calm those nerves a bit.

If Connect To Me doesn't give enough date locations for you, try picking more "interest categories" in the "Location Interests" section or changing the starting location.
